The Faena Arts Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina's mission is to promote artistic experimentation, foster connections between different disciplines and explore every possible combination of art, technology and design, and as a result to extend the art borders.
As part of fulfilling this mission they have presented the Faena Arts Prize 2012. This international prize will award a grant of USD 25,000 to the winner as well as -up to- USD 50,000 to finance the production of the site-specific project that will be exhibited at the Faena Arts Center in Buenos Aires, mid-2013. In addition, two special mentions will go to two other projects with a prize amount of USD 500 each.
