The Chicago Tribune (circ. 437,205) covered SAIC alumna Petra Bachmaier (BFA 1999) and Sean Gallero (SAIC 1993-98),known as Luftwerk, and their collaborative piece Luminous Field on the cover of the February 8 Arts + Entertainment page. "Bachmaier and Gallero, who met while attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and are both 38, have worked together for more than 10 years,” writes reporter Mark Caro. The full-page article describes how a soundtrack and 10 projectors mounted on four towers looming 15 to 21 feet above the ground interact with Anish Kapoor’s world-renowned Millennium Park sculpture Cloud Gate, and includes several quotes from the artists. The piece closes February 20.
