Several SAIC alumni had their artwork exhibited in major galleries around town on the first weekend of February. On February 3, Paul Klein’s ArtLetter covered Antonia Gurkovska (MFA 2011) and Molly Zuckerman-Hartung (Post-Bacc 2005, MFA 2007). The veteran critic describes Gurkovska’s work at Kavi Gupta Gallery as a "brave, creative, new look at minimal and historical issues,” while Zuckerman-Hartung’s exhibition at Corbett vs. Dempsey is called "aggressive, fragmented, disparate, yet beautiful.” He concludes by predicting that both artists "are going to explode to significance in a larger-than-Chicago realm.” ArtSlant contributor Mia DiMeo (MA 2011) also reviewed Zuckerman-Hartung’s exhibition on February 6, describing her work as "where aggression and elation towards culture, semiotics and avant-garde traditions manifest themselves in a plurality of styles and materials.”
