The Claymont Foundation will hold its annual alumni awards banquet May
14th at Claymont High School, the 2011 recipient is Kurt Fondriest (MFA 1988) who graduated from Claymount in 1980.
Fondreist is an expressive art therapist at Misericordia Home in Chicago. The Distinguished Alumnus Award is presented to a person who has
dedicated his or her life or career to the service of humanity.
Twenty years ago, he initiated an expressive art studio program for
people living with developmental disabilities. He is a holistic
minister with his own practice "The Healingseed Expressive Art
Ministries.” He also is a nondenominational minister. He is an advocate for people living with disabilities and signed
the Americans with Disabilities Act as a Chicago representative in 1990 and lives in Chicago
