Two sculptures created by alumna Jessica Hutchins (PBS 1997, MFA 1999) will be on display for High Line Art’s exhibition Archeo. The show, which focuses on technology and obsolescence, brings together work of artists who employ outmoded technologies and outdates machinery as a reflection of humanity’s continuous fascination and frustration with technology. Hutchins’ contributions to the exhibition include a ceramic piece balancing on a hammock stretched among trees and a new sculpture sitting on an armchair. These works are reflections of Hutchins’ artistic approach, which involves sculptural installations and collages created from re-purposed objects. The Exhibition will run April through March 2015.
