William Cordova (BFA 1996) is the curator for smoke signals: istwa, paisajes and allegories, a show that challenges familiar perceptions of our surroundings through unconventional materials such as building materials, found objects and textiles. The exhibition proposes alternative methods of reconsidering our own presence and values.

For more information go to the official website.

Cordova's work can also be seen at General Audience Presents "yawar mallku: look for me in the whirlwind," a  series of works focusing on reframing history, making the invisible visible.

Go to the official website for more details.

He is currently showing work at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) in San Fransisco through February 17th.  In smoke signals: viviendo pa’ la ciudad he focuses on architecture and landscapes, and reconstructs, reconsiders, and reconnects past events to reveal their relevancy in today’s social climate.
